We invite students, artists, creatives and activists to participate in a creative workshop reflecting on the kind of democracy we want to build in post-Brexit Britain and take part in a collective action. On the 6th of May, the last British local elections will take place while July will bring the end of the transition period and the start of a new “reality”. What does our post-Brexit democratic ideal look like? How can we build it collectively?

WeHybrids: Laboratorium is a collaboration between WeHybrids and Polish Migrants Organise for Change (POMOC) which will take place in both the digital and the physical sphere in the two months before the elections. It consists of an online workshop and interventions in public space.

Prior to the workshop, each participant will receive a welcome pack consisting of words borrowed from various political theory texts. We will experiment with them together to compose new meanings. The materials and ideas collectively created during the workshops will be translated into a series of posters, which will enter the public space. Placed along our daily paths, they will bring the political into our everyday routine and invite us to pause and reflect.

WeHybrids is a collaborative, participatory and multidisciplinary project, aiming to bring together diverse creative voices to explore the relationship between art and politics. WeHybrids aims to identify and explore the participants’ individual and collective agency in a creative, but also very practical and hands-on way.
